3D Printer Makes Prototyping Fast and Easy!

NPE Systems has enhanced it’s rapid prototyping capabilities with the addition of a 3D printer, a uPrint system by Dimension.

3D Printing provides more flexibility than ever for making 3D models for visualization, collaboration and functional testing.

“We can print whatever component we want, quickly, as many times as we want”, says Mike Brochu, Jr., NPE’s Rapid Prototyping Manger. One of team of engineers at NPE, Mike runs an in-house full Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine shop, where he excels at bringing ideas to life. The prototyping may involve 3D CAD design work, FDM machining, 3D printing, and often redesign to “work out design kinks”. NPE development specialists work closely with clients from design concept to final product, and they facilitate the complete transfer of knowledge when the product is turned over to the client. uPrint models are made in ABS — a production-grade thermoplastic that is tough enough for functional testing under real-world conditions. The models can be drilled, machined, sanded, and painted. They're perfect for proof of concept, functional testing, product mock-ups and vacuum formed molds.

With 3D printing capabilities in-house, NPE is better equipped to bring product ideas from design concept to working prototype and through to final product.
